In October 2017 a Community Councillor asked ian Allan if there was the potential of raising funds for the development of Loch Park as a Sports and Wellbeing Hub for the village, after the community was let down by potential
sponsor due to Sports Scotland intimating there was to close an association between Glenafton Athletic FC and Glenafton Community Development Group Ltd and thereby would not attract match funding from Sports Scotland.
Ian and his former colleague had a number of meetings with the Glens committee and 2 represntatives from the community council as a result prepared a tender briefing for a feasibilty study for the project and as a result both organisations selected Community
Enterprise Ltd as the preferred tenderer
A grant application from the Renewable Energy Fund for the funding of the study was prepared by Ian on behalf of the community council, this application was successful and
the community consultation has been completed
